SNU Department of History Colloquium, "Talent Recruitment in History" Bloodline or Merit? Discourse Surrounding Talent Recruitment During the Goryeo Dynasty

Sep 19, 2024

Hello, this is the Research and Education Enhancement Project Team of the Department of History, College of Humanities, Seoul National University.

Since March 2023, the Departments of Korean History, Asian History, and Western History have been integrated into the Department of History. Following the launch of this integrated department, the Enhancement Project Team has been organizing special lectures focused on timely and significant topics that transcend traditional disciplinary boundaries.

The colloquium series for the second semester of 2024 is titled **"Talent Recruitment in History: Bloodline or Merit?"**. Held once a month, a total of four sessions will bring together various experts to historically trace the concept of meritocracy, a topic still relevant today, by examining how talent recruitment has been carried out across Korean, Eastern, and Western history.

We encourage the active participation of undergraduate and graduate students, as well as anyone interested in the subject.
